A warm welcome to Old Ivy House Bed and Breakfast located in the beautiful village of Congerstone.

 

The surrounding countryside is a mixture of woodland and farmland, with the Ashby Canal and Shackerstone Steam Railway nearby. There are plenty of lovely walks in the vicinity, including the Ivanhoe Trail, canal pathways, and through the woods to the temple ruins where Handel is reputed to have written The Messiah. Congerstone is on the National Cycle Network and is much visited by cyclists and walkers alike.

 

We believe we have created a very special B&B experience. Parts of Old Ivy House date back to the 13th century and was a working farm until very recently. Oak beams abound; original wooden floors, log fires, brass beds and a plethora of antique furniture all contribute to an atmospheric and perfect environment for your stay.

 

We have four double bedrooms which are all en-suite, and a twin bedded room with private bathroom. The rooms are named after the local villages; Market Bosworth, Shackerstone, Cadeby, Kirkby Mallory and Twycross. One of our bedrooms is furnished with a super king sized bed and has a luxury bathroom with a dressing area. For that special occasion or just as a treat, or even as a family room, it will be a memorable stay. Just a short walk away is the Horse and Jockey, our local pub which has an excellent and highly recommended restaurant.

 

All rooms are equipped with flat screen televisions which are FreeView enabled giving access to a wide range of channels, as well as digital radio services. We have Wifi throughout the house. Our rooms also have a DVD player. A wide range of DVD's can be borrowed on request. Additionally in your room you will find a hair dryer and a radio alarm clock which can charge and play your iPod. Each room is also equipped with a kettle and complimentary tea, coffee and hot chocolate sachets. Milk for drinks is provided fresh each day in a vacuum flask, which we are happy to refill on request.

 

We provide a full English breakfast, or a continental breakfast, but if there is something special you would like for breakfast please don't hesitate to ask, and we will endeavour to provide it.
