Year 1977… Akyar Brothers opened their first fabric store in Fatih, Istanbul.
Offering local and imported fabrics of the highest quality only, the store quickly built a reputation, becoming a haunt for seekers of premium fabrics in Istanbul. Since then, Aker’s rise has gone beyond a commercial success story to evolve into a story of the passion for textile and an exciting journey fueled by the desire to always offer the best to customers.
As with all things born out of passion, the brothers’ efforts soon bore fruit. Thanks to their rigor and never-compromising attitude, Aker continued to grow, opening a second store in Bakirkoy. Quality fabrics and rich designs made sure that Aker’s reputation kept growing each day.
