As Captains of Lahinch Golf Club, we would like to extend a very warm welcome to all our members and visitors, from Ireland and overseas. We particularly welcome our new members and encourage you, to participate in, as many club events, as possible.

 

Located on the edge of the village, Lahinch Golf Club is known as the St. Andrew’s of Ireland, and has been a golfing mecca for over 100 years.

 

We recognise that Lahinch is a special place, and we are very proud of our Club. Since its foundation in 1892, Lahinch Golf Club is rightly regarded as one of the world’s finest links golf courses. The Old Course; today, is a spectacular links and is a product of design originally by Old Tom Morris and, more significantly, in the 1920’s by Alistair McKenzie. The Old Course was dramatically modernised and further enhanced by Martin Hawtree in 2003, and is consistently ranked among Europe’s Top 20 and the World’s Top 50 golf courses. Our second course, The Castle Course, is pure links and while less challenging than the Old Course, it is also very popular with our members and visitors.

We are very proud of our tradition in supporting and promoting golf in Ireland. We have hosted all major Men’s and Ladies’ amateur championships in Ireland and the Home Internationals, and this year we are delighted to, once again, host the Irish Women’s Close Championship on 12-15 May. The South of Ireland   Championship takes place from 20th July and will finish on Sunday 24th July, when we will honour our new Champion. This important fixture on the Men’s amateur circuit boasts winners such as golfing greats Graeme McDowell, Darren Clarke and Paul McGinley

We hope to see friends and family on our fairways; throughout the year, especially our overseas members and their guests, who will be participating in the biennial Ken Venturi overseas member/guest tournament in late August, and we look forward to welcoming you to our wonderful Club.
