Halmstad GolfKlubb - Norra Banan is one of the top golf courses situated in the town of Tylösand, just 8km away from the city of  Halmstad, which is in the province of  Halland in  Sweden.Tylösand is well known for its 7km-long beautiful beaches on the coast of Sweden where several golf courses are based. This exceptional location offers such an amazing setting for a round of golf.The golf club opened in 1930 and 5 years later Rafael Sundblom designed the first 9 holes. Later on, Nils Skold continued the design of 9 extra holes, creating the sublime 18-hole course that is called the Norra Banan today.In 1975, the golf club decided to construct 9 more holes and Nils Skold was tasked with designing the layout once again. After, the British architect Frank Pennink finished the final 9 holes to create the 18-hole  South Course.A few adjustments and improvements have since been made by golf architects such as Frank Pennink and Donald A. Steel.     The Norra Banan course is considered to be one of the best golf courses in Sweden and in 2001 the British golf magazine Golf World elected the resort as Europe’s 2nd best golf course outside of the UK.The golf course has already hosted international tournaments such as the Solheim Cup in 2007. It is evident that English golf architects have constructed this course, as the classic English style is felt throughout each hole. The resort is also surrounded by an array of trees offering such a unique setting.Several holes are known to be spectacular, such as the 16th which was voted as Sweden’s best golf hole in 2004. It is a par 3 and measures 164 metres, and there is a brook on the left side of the green which is protected by a creek. The feeling of experiencing this hole is said indescribable.The course is wider than its smaller brother, and has more undulated fairways with plenty of hazards such as bunkers and trees.The golf resort has a golf academy that provides 50 minute private lessons taught by the club's on-site teaching professional, which are perfect to further your experience from golf.There is a swing studio at the driving range that can replay and analyse your golfswing by means of the latest technological equipment.You will have the opportunity to compare your swing with those of professional golfers', by analysing the difference and similarities which is the most efficient way of improving.A gym is available for all visitors to make sure you stay in good health.The clubhouse includes a restaurant, a pro shop where you can find all the latest golfing equipment, a driving range, putting green, a chipping area and much more!
