Brackenhurst is a Bed & Breakfast with a difference it was formerly a 14 bedroom hotel and has been extensively refurbished to 5 star luxury.  The conservatory "The Bridge" opened in 2016 has fabulous views down the estuary overlooking Barmouth Bridge and seating outside for those wonderful sunsets we get, take a look at the new photos in our gallery.

Brackenhurst is situated in Snowdonia National Park just 15 mins drive from Dolgellau on the beautiful coast of North West Wales, standing in an elevated position overlooking Cardigan Bay, the port of Barmouth and the famous Mawdach Estuary.  

 

Just two minutes drive away is the fabulous beach of Fairbourne.  You can take a walk into Fairbourne which has its own steam railway, golf course, Indiana restaurant and much more.

 

A warm welcome awaits you when you arrive at Brackenhurst.   You will realise you have made the right choice as you see the most spectacular views. All our rooms overlook the sea so you can relax watching the most amazing sunsets over the Bay towards the Llyn Peninsular.

 

Brackenhurst is a family run house offering the best in accommodation, facilities and pampering, although not licensed you are welcome to bring your own.

 

Whether you just need to get away for a night, a weekend or longer.  Special occasion or romance in mind Brackenhurst can offer it all. 

 

We have three En-suite bedrooms with large Digital TV’s, Wi-fi, Iphone docks, Tea & Coffee, Hair Dryer and of course fluffy robes and towels!  

 

We also have an exclusive self catering luxury suite with access to the large outdoor balcony overlooking the Sea from either the Bedroom or Lounge area. (Commodores Suite)

 

Binoculars are provided in each room so you can watch those dolphins or see the yachts coming and going into Barmouth Harbour.

 

Many of our guests come here to celebrate special occasions as there is only a maximum of eight guests stay at Brackenhurst at any one time so you can either lose yourself in the house and grounds or make new friends.  Unfortunately for the comfort of our guests we don't take children under 12 years.

We operate a strict no smoking policy within the house however there are areas within the grounds where smoking is allowed.
