Overview
Seen from a distance, the first impression of Jacks Point is space, green and gold tussock grassland, massive areas of native vegetation and an undisturbed lake-front. In all, over 800 hectares has been incorporated into 'The Preserve'. This also includes an extensive restored wetland, native songbird habitat, working farm and golf course. All is linked seamlessly, via a network of trails, into the homesites and new Village.
Towards the Remarkables there are several distinct, close-knit neighbourhoods overlooking the central lake and village area. Moving west uphill is 'The Ridge', a future luxury eco-lodge site overlooking both the village area and the expanse of Lake Wakatipu and mountains beyond, and dotted within the Preserve are 36 of the most beautiful home-sites with commanding views to the north and west.
With a backdrop of 2300 vertical metres of the Remarkables mountain range and an armchair view of an outstanding lake panoramas, Jack's Point Golf course is one of the most visually spectacular in the world. As an 18 hole par 72 championship course it offers golfers an exciting challenge with five tee positions to choose from, providing all golfers an unforgettable golf experience.
The course has been designed around the natural landscape, with minimal excavation. The course measures 6388 metres (6986 yards) from the championship tees and is built on the most spectacular of Jack's Point terrain, weaving through native tussock grasslands, dramatic rock outcrops, steep bluffs and swathes of native bush to the edge of Lake Wakatipu. Located beneath the Remarkables mountain range, Jack's Point is only 20 minutes from downtown Queenstown.
